Service Description

Cancer Mindfulness MBCT course offers a valuable, evidence-backed program to help both patients and caregivers better manage the psychological and emotional impact of cancer. The skills and support provided can make a meaningful difference in quality of life during a very challenging time. Cancer can be an incredibly stressful and emotionally-taxing experience, both for patients and their caregivers. This program provides evidence-based techniques to help manage the psychological and emotional challenges that often arise during cancer treatment and recovery. The Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy approach has been shown to improve overall quality of life for cancer patients and their loved ones. It can help reduce symptoms of anxiety, depression, and distress, leading to a more positive mindset and better ability to cope. The program teaches participants a variety of mindfulness and cognitive-behavioural strategies that can be applied long-term. This gives them a toolbox of skills to draw upon as they navigate the ups and downs of the cancer experience. Recognising that caregivers also face significant stresses; this course is open to both patients and their loved ones/caregivers. This allows caregivers to also receive the mental health support and coping mechanisms they need. Participants have the opportunity to connect with and learn from others going through similar experiences. This can provide a sense of community, validation, and shared understanding. Course begins 31 August - 19th September 2024 2pm – 4pm Causeway Bay, Hong Kong Instructo r- Nadine Anderson
