Mindfulness for Cancer
Cancer Mindfulness MBCT Hong Kong
Service Description
The MBCT - Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy for Cancer course offers a valuable, evidence-backed program to help both patients and caregivers better manage the psychological and emotional impact of cancer. The skills and support provided can make a meaningful difference in quality of life during a very challenging time. The Mindfulness approach has been shown to improve overall quality of life for cancer patients and their loved ones. It can help reduce symptoms of anxiety, depression, and distress, leading to a more positive mindset and better ability to cope. The program teaches participants a variety of mindfulness and cognitive-behavioural strategies that can be applied long-term. This gives them a toolbox of skills to draw upon as they navigate the ups and downs of the cancer experience. Recognising that caregivers also face significant stresses; this course is open to both patients and their loved ones/caregivers. This allows caregivers to also receive the mental health support and coping mechanisms they need. Participants have the opportunity to connect with and learn from others going through similar experiences. This can provide a sense of community, validation, and shared understanding.
