Service Description

DATES - May 13, 20th & 27th 7.30pm - 8.30pm The Introducing Mindfulness training offers a gentle, accessible introduction to mindfulness practice and theory. It is designed for beginners and for anyone curious about what mindfulness is, how mindfulness works, and how it may support everyday wellbeing, focus, and the reduction of stress and anxiety. It’s a short course, but it offers a real opportunity to begin experiencing mindfulness directly, rather than only understanding it conceptually — and to explore how attention, awareness, and choice can subtly shift the quality of daily life. What will you learn? The course runs over three sessions, each exploring a core theme: • Understanding the mind and attention We explore how the mind naturally wanders, and how training attention can support greater steadiness, clarity, and choice in everyday life. • Different ways of being and knowing We notice how much of our experience is shaped by thinking, and begin to recognise other more direct, experiential ways of knowing through mindfulness practice. • Reacting and responding We explore the difference between automatic reactions and more spacious responses, and how even a small pause can change how we meet stress, anxiety, and difficulty. What happens during the sessions? The sessions are group-based and supportive, combining teaching, guided mindfulness practices, reflection, and discussion. You’ll also be invited to explore short mindfulness practices between sessions, bringing the learning into everyday life in a simple and realistic way. Each session builds gently on the one before. What are the benefits? Even over three sessions, many people begin to notice subtle but meaningful shifts such as: • A sense of more space and ease in the day • Greater appreciation of simple, pleasant moments • An increased ability to support yourself during stress, distraction, or anxiety • A growing sense of choice in how you respond to experience While experiences vary, this course offers a grounded introduction to mindfulness for those searching for what is mindfulness, how to start mindfulness meditation, or how to reduce stress and anxiety naturally, and a practical first step into mindfulness practice.
